Do You Need A Social App?

For most young people, seeing the world through a screen is standard. Others may see this as ignorance and will live entirely connected without needing a phone.

But what are the pros and cons to having a social app? And should we have them at all ?

PROS

Social apps help you keep in contact with people for free, all over the world at any time. You can find out what everyone is doing and keep people informed with what’s going on in your life too.

Without a signal, classic phones are practically pointless; but with smart phone social apps, we can connect to people whenever there is WiFi. Social apps help us connect without signal which is great when lost, in an emergency or in a different country.

Free Up Storage: Uploading photos to Facebook or Instagram will clear memory from your phone so you can take more, but can still show the images when talking with friends.

As all social apps are free – as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection – you have information and access helpful sites at your fingertips.

Cons

You may not be able to enjoy everyday life properly. With social apps, we are less likely to start real conversations, or build strong bonds with actual people.

Although you can actually see photos onto Facebook, using apps will use data, which can easily run out for anyone on a small contract. Without data, you are limited to using only Wi-Fi services. Some would argue, if there is a Wifi Connection, there is likely a desktop computer, so why use social apps on a phone?

The constant urgency to be online has been proven scientifically to cause stress, sleep problems and Depression. Looking through other people’s lives online can create envy and can lead to low self-esteem. We are also constantly anxious how we will appear online and who will judge.

An exception to the rule is Instagram and Snapchat. Neither are available to desktop like Facebook and Twitter. Whilst online social apps can be deemed unnecessary (if the app doesn’t provide any additional features to the site), Instagram cannot be used properly on Desktop and you are unable to post photos direct from the computer. Therefore if you are an Instagram fan you must use the app.

As for the phenomena of Snapchat, if you don’t have this app you may be missing out on a whole lot more than you think: With so many features, filters and news, it’s a playful app for all the family to connect for free. Even businesses use social apps which means you may be missing out on a deals that you can’t actually receive online.

You will find everyone has their own opinion on social media. However its popularity doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon, so in order to stay connected with friends and family from all of over the world along, there are many advantages to having social apps on your phone.
